HYPOPHOSPHOROUS ACID

3. Properties: The pure form of this product is a colorless crystal with the density of (19°C)1.493 and the melting point of 26.5°C. It can be mixed with water in any proportions. Being a strong reducer, it can be easily oxidized in air. If the anhydrous acid is heated to 130-140°C, it will be decomposed into PH3 and H3PO4 .

(1) As antioxidant and color-reducing agent for alkyd resin.
